UNIVERSEH AGH invites students from its consortium partners to participate in the Parallel Ground Test for the Axiom 4, IGNIS mission on the International Space Station, in the form of the isolated MXene in LEO Analog Mission. The mission will begin with pre-training on 7 June at AGH, Building D3 (Habitat), and will be carried out in the AATC’s (Analog Astronaut Training Center) Habitat (Rzepiennik Suchy, Poland) from 8 to 14 June 2025 (7 days in total).
During the mission, a selected analog astronaut crew (4 participants) will conduct parallel experiments related to the MXene in LEO project, developed by scientists from AGH. These experiments are part of the broader research to be tested by the Polish project astronaut of the European Space Agency (ESA), Dr. Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, on the International Space Station.
The main aims of the activity are:
– learning how to perform ground control experiments for ISS projects,
– learning how to document the ground testing phase according to ESA requirements,
– learning how to carry out an analog mission,
– developing transferable skills such as project management, problem-solving, and teamwork during the execution of experiments, documentation, and preparation of technical materials,
– practising soft skills such as effective communication, collaboration, and critical thinking at every stage of the project—from concept development to final documentation.
