Space Technology Centre

The Space Technology Centre is an auxiliary unit of the AGH University of Krakow, established in 2020 by the Rector of AGH, Prof. Jerzy Lis, DSc, PhD, Eng.

The goal of the Centre is to develop scientific research and support educational activities in the field of space technologies. The Centre operates within the organizational structure of AGH under the supervision of the Vice-Rector for Cooperation. In 2025, AGH’s activities in the area of space technologies were expanded through the establishment of the Faculty of Space Technologies, which represents a direct continuation and development of the mission and initiatives launched by the Centre.

Although the Centre and the Faculty are separate organizational units, they work closely together on joint space technology initiatives.

Currently, the following projects are being carried out at the Centre:

  • Research Centre – implemented under the IDUB Initiative of Excellence – Research University program
  • MXene in LEO – conducted in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA)
  • Hype Satellite – placed in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in January 2025
  • NAWA UNIVERSEH Plus
  • ERASMUS+ SPACE_HUB_READY
