Research Team: AI, Cybersecurity and Software Systems for Space Missions
The group conducts interdisciplinary research in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software systems, addressing the specific challenges and requirements of space missions and space technologies. The scope of activities includes: the development of artificial intelligence algorithms for autonomous systems used in space missions, as well as for the analysis of data collected from satellites, rovers, and other orbital and planetary platforms; the design of secure software architectures and mission-critical systems; the analysis of cybersecurity threats in the space environment; and the development of methods for autonomous monitoring and incident response. The research also covers the integration of software and hardware solutions, taking into account the constraints and specific conditions of the space environment.

Research offer
The group conducts research on the application of artificial intelligence in space exploration and space engineering, with particular emphasis on autonomous decision-making systems and data analysis from orbital and planetary missions and platforms. We offer expertise in designing, developing, and validating autonomous systems for space missions, covering both decision algorithms and their implementation in embedded systems., We carry out research focused on cybersecurity for space missions and exploration, including the analysis of threats specific to the space environment and the design of security solutions for mission-critical systems. The group has extensive experience in developing software intended for operation in extreme conditions, prioritizing reliability, resilience, and autonomous operation capabilities., Additionally, we specialize in the engineering of hardware–software systems for space missions, integrating electronic components and software to ensure safe and effective performance during orbital and exploration missions. Our research includes the development of methodologies and tools supporting software engineering processes for the space sector, as well as the analysis of large datasets obtained from satellites, rovers, probes, and telescopes.
