Bachelor's Program - Space Engineering

Space is one of the fastest-growing technological sectors in the world, creating demand for engineers who can combine technology, innovation, and systems thinking!

Space Engineering is a unique programme for students who want to create technologies used in satellites, space missions, autonomous systems, and next-generation infrastructure. Join a new era of engineers shaping how humanity explores, understands, and uses space!

Bachelor's Programme in Space Engineering

Space Engineering is a first-cycle engineering programme (Bachelor of Engineering) designed to provide a comprehensive, system-oriented education in modern space technologies, preparing future engineers for careers in one of the fastest-growing and most exciting areas of science and engineering.

As the first and only programme of its kind in Poland, it is built around a system-level approach that enables students to understand how modern space systems are engineered in practice, integrating hardware, software, and mission operations into a single, coherent framework.

The programme has been developed in close collaboration with industry and research partners, covering all major technological domains of modern space engineering, including spacecraft structures and materials, propulsion and power systems, avionics and onboard computing, communication and ground infrastructure, as well as payloads, sensors, and Earth observation technologies.

The curriculum also covers key aspects of mission dynamics and control, including orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, and attitude determination and control systems, together with mission operations and lifecycle management. These elements are complemented by competencies in embedded systems, data processing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity — always in direct relation to space applications.

By combining these areas within a single, coherent programme, students gain a system-level understanding of how complete space missions are designed, built, and operated.

Quick Facts

Courses are taught by experts and researchers from different countries, including industry practitioners and specialists connected with international space sector, for example European Space Agency.

The programme prepares students for international careers and global engineering environments.

Studies are free of charge for students from Poland. International students are subject to tuition fees, which are described in detail on the webpage dedicated to international applicants.

The Faculty hosts 10 space-related student research groups, where students actively engage in ambitious, real-world projects.

Their areas of interest include:

  • designing and building satellites
  • lunar exploration and robotics
  • materials for space missions
  • astrobiology
  • Earth observation
  • laser and radio communications
  • software development for the space sector
  • space propulsion
  • social aspects of space exploration

We are a part of UNIVERSEH: European Space University for Earth and Humanity. It is an alliance of seven European universities, active since 2021, focused on advancing education and collaboration in the space sector. The project brings together institutions from across Europe, including partners from France, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Luxembourg, and Belgium.

UNIVERSEH offers a range of opportunities for students, including:

  • mobility programs across partner universities
  • joint academic courses
  • short-term schools and summer programs at partner institutions
  • initiatives promoting sustainability and inclusion

Students can participate in conferences, international projects, workshops, and short-term schools abroad, gaining valuable international experience and building a global network.

Regular "Meet the Copmany" events with space and high-tech companies give students the opportunity to explore the industry, build professional networks, and learn directly from employers.

Expert talks and seminars with researchers, engineers, and industry professionals allow students to continuously expand their knowledge beyond the classroom.
