AGH Skylink

AGH Skylink works at the intersection of optical and radio communication, high-frequency electronics, virtual reality, and neural networks. The group conducts numerous innovative projects, including a long-distance laser communication system, a radar integrated with VR/AR goggles, an Earth-Moon-Earth communication system, multispectral data analysis for the detection of living organisms, and the development of a custom ASIC chip for the receiver paths of their devices.

What are the key topics/ technologies your group works on?

  • Laser and Radio Communications
  • Design and construction of laser/radio systems
  • Radar and microwave systems
  • Training and education in amateur radio

What are you currently working on?

  • QO-100 geostationary satellite terminal for a himalayan survey mission, to allow communication with Poland where there are no other networks.
  • Design of new control electronics for a 2.4 GHz/10 Ghz 4m dish satellite station in Rzepiennik
  • Free-space optical laser transceiver
  • ISS astronaut communications during Ax-4 mission
  • LoRA image downlink module for Stratospheric Balloon missions
  • Training workshops in amateur radio for AGH Space Systems Stratospheric team, AGH Astrobio etc. Topics include ISS communications, technicals of radio links during balloon missions, but also hands-on workshops such as assembly of radio equipment, antenna testing and operating a radio station.

Have you received any awards, distinctions, or completed notable projects?

IIIrd place in the Science Associations Session at UR for involvement in the Turbojet Drone project. Our part is the development of the Ground Penetrating Radar.
