SUMMARY:Doctoral Day at the Faculty of Space Technologies
DESCRIPTION:Doctoral Day\n\nAre you considering a PhD, or are you already o
n the doctoral journey and looking to connect with other researchers, learn
about their work, and maybe start a scientific collaboration?\n\nWe invite
you to Doctoral Day on 13 May 2026, taking place from 10:00 to 11:30 in ro
om 1.05 (building D-3). The event will be held in English.\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent
  Program\n\n10:00 – 10:45 | My PhD Story\n\nShort talks by PhD candidates a
nd one recently graduated researcher, sharing their scientific journeys, ch
 allenges, and discoveries.\n\n10:45 – 11:30 | Science Networking Mixer\n\nA
n open networking session where you can talk directly with doctoral researc
hers, ask questions about their work, and explore potential collaborations.
\n\nOur PhD researchers will be seated at individual tables, and participan
ts are invited to join the table that interests them most. Through short, i
nformal conversations, you can quickly learn as much as possible about thei
r research, daily work, and PhD experience.\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet the Team\n\nDr.
Dagmara Stasiowska\n\nDefended her PhD on biocybernetic modelling of bee c
olonies under stress conditions related to spaceflight in March 2025. She a
lso contributed to the MXene in LEO experiment developed at AGH and conduct
ed during Poland’s first scientific mission to the ISS.\n\nAgnieszka Talik
(PhD candidate)\n\nHer research focuses on developing sustainable composite
s from algae and regolith using ISRU principles, with applications in biopl
astic production and carbon dioxide sequestration for life support systems.
\n\nXiaoqian Gao (PhD candidate)\n\nWorks on soft, trunk-like robotic syste
ms for on-orbit servicing and non-invasive grasping of CubeSats, enabling s
afe interaction with satellites that lack docking interfaces.\n\nPiotr Pich
ór (PhD candidate)\n\nDevelops satellite-based water quality forecasting an
d modelling systems using Earth observation data.\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Us\n\nYou
are very welcome to join us — whether you are just considering a PhD, alre
ady on your doctoral journey, or simply curious about what this path looks
 like.
